The Steam version of the game became free-to-play on June 23, 2011. It was also released as part of The Orange Box (for the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and PC), was later re-released as a standalone retail package for the PC (on April 8, 2008), and was later updated for compatibility with Mac (on June 10, 2010) and Linux (on November 6, 2012) on Steam. Team Fortress 2 is a multiplayer team-based first-person shooter developed and published by Valve for the PC (via Steam) on October 10, 2007.
